Abstract:

Many contemporary studies approach Mahdism from a political-science orientation or historical perspective, as the evidence is marshaled from the influential Mahdist movement in Islamic history—Abbasids, Fatimids, Muwahhids, Sudanese Mahdists, and so on. As such, it can be seen that there has been a lack of discourse as regards abstraction, particularly concerning the literary structure of Mahd¯ı h. ad¯ıth. This paper explores a panoramic view of h. ad¯ıth commentaries in order to understand their commentarial production on apocalyptic questions, specifically focusing on the subject of Mahd¯ı within this trend of Sunni h. ad¯ıth scholarship. Had¯ıth commentaries are meant to bridge the gap in space and time between Prophetic words or teachings and the actual world of the reader. Hence, this study provides a brief survey of the documentation of Mahd¯ı h. ad¯ıth, starting with the classical Sunnite h. ad¯ıth compendia of the second century of Hijrah. The material has been drawn from h. ad¯ıth compendia, topical h. ad¯ıth works, s¯ırah literature, classical-to-modern h. ad¯ıth commentaries, and other theological writings and has been balanced when feasible with details (or lack thereof) contained in the Quran. Advocators have always adopted and adjusted their hermeneutics in order to answer challenges posed by deniers of Mahd¯ı h. ad¯ıth. Regardless of how exactly these strategies, attitudes, and uses arose, it is safe to assume that these scholars undertook their work out of professional vocation in addition to religious devotion. Eventually, h. ad¯ıth commentaries found their place in the theological discourse according to orientations and operations of eschatology, which to a certain extent reflect classical, medieval, or contemporary attitudes toward the meaning and relevance of Mahd¯ı h. ad¯ıth.

چکیده:

بسیاری از مطالعات معاصر به مهدویت از منظر علو م سیاسی یا تاریخی نگریسته‌اند، زیرا شواهد عمدتاً از جنبش‌های تأثیرگذار مهدوی در تاریخ اسلام همچون عباسیان، فاطمیان، موحدین، مهدوی سودان و غیره جمع‌آوری شده‌ اند. بدين ترتيب، مشاهده می‌شود كه در مورد استخراج، به ويژه در مورد ساختار ادبي حديث مهدوي، كمبود گفتمان وجود داشته است. این مقاله به بررسی دیدگاهی پانورامیک از تفاسیر حدیثی می‌پردازد تا تولید تفسیری آن‌ها را در مورد پرسش‌های آخرالزمانی درک کند، به‌ویژه با تمرکز بر موضوع مهدی در این جریان از علمای اهل سنت. تفاسیر حدیث برای پرکردن شکاف مکانی و زمانی بین کلمات یا معارف نبوی و دنیای واقعی خواننده است. از این رو، این پژوهش بررسی مختصری از مستندات حدیث مهدوی را ارائه می‌کند که از خلاصه‌های حدیث کلاسیک اهل سنت در قرن دوم هجری آغاز می‌شود. مطالب از مجموع احادیث، آثار حدیثی موضوعی، ادبیات سیره، تفسیرهای حدیث کلاسیک تا مدرن و سایر نوشته های کلامی استخراج شده است و در صورت امکان با جزئیات (یا فقدان آن) در قرآن متعادل شده است. مدعیان همواره هرمنوتیک خود را برای پاسخگویی به چالش‌های منکران حدیث مهدوی اتخاذ کرده و تنظیم کرده‌اند. صرف نظر از اینکه دقیقاً چگونه این راهبردها، نگرش‌ها و استفاده‌ها پدید آمدند، می‌توان فرض کرد که این علما علاوه بر عبادت دینی، کار خود را خارج از حرفه حرفه‌ای انجام داده‌اند. سرانجام، تفاسیر حدیث با توجه به جهت‌گیری‌ها و عملیات آخرت‌شناسی، جایگاه خود را در گفتمان کلامی یافت که تا حدی منعکس‌کننده نگرش‌های کلاسیک، میانه یا معاصر نسبت به معنا و تناسب حدیث مهدی است.
